An impressive extra medium saltwater crocodile skull mounted on a custom made black wood and iron base. The skull has been polished to a high shine giving it a golden sheen. Each tooth has been hand welded and is razor sharp.
The saltwater crocodile
Although the saltwater crocodile is not an endangered species, it is emblematic of many crocodile species that are listed as endangered or threatened on the IUCN Red List. At the other end of the spectrum are the Chinese and Philippine crocodiles. With fewer than 100 adults left in the wild, the Philippine crocodile is the most endangered crocodile in the world.
There is no single cause for the ailment of crocodile populations worldwide. However, depending on the species, there are several common factors that affect populations in the wild. These include habitat destruction, hunting for skins to make luxury goods, hunting for meat, disrupted interactions with humans, and even competition between species living in the same habitats.
The saltwater crocodile is the largest of all crocodile species and can reach a length of up to 7 meters. Its power and massive build are unparalleled. We prefer to admire its beauty in a stunning, static form made of polished bronze.
